Top 5 Reads of 2018

2018 is officially over and 2019 has begun, which is just a bit crazy. Honestly, how??

Well now that 2018 has finally finished, I wanted to quickly share with you all some of my favourite reads from the year. These will be in no particular order because just picking 5 of my favourites was hard enough and forcing me to put them in order would be even harder.

  1. Six of crows by Leigh Bardugo

I was very late to this party. Very, very late. Way beyond what some might say is fashionably late, even. Okay but oh lord did I love this book. Since SoC came out I’ve been hearing people talk about how great it is, and a part of me was like PPPPFFFT it can’t be that good. I was wrong, it is that good. I still need to read CK but that is hopefully going to be one of my first reads of 2019.

2. Legendary by Stephanie Garber

I loved Caraval a lot. It was easily one of m top 5 reads of 2018 and it is actually one of my new favourite books in general, so I had high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed. I actually liked this one more than I did Caraval. So… yeah, I liked it a lot and I’m eagerly (and not so patiently) waiting for the arrival of finale.

3. The Illuminae files by Jay Kritsoff and Amie Kaufman

I read the entire series this year and each book was absolutely amazing. I’m a bit annoyed at myself for having waited so long to read them, but I’m just glad I have. Oh my y’all every book was so good. I can’t pick a favourite because I love them all so much and I am now beyond excited for Amie and Jay’s new series!! give it to me now !!!!!!!!!

4. Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas.

Kingdom of Ash was my most anticipated read of this year. It was an end of an era, finally holding this beast of a book in my hands after following this series for years was a bittersweet moment. This wasn’t a perfect book, a lot of things kind of bothered me BUT it was a good ending to the series and I cried a lot. (I basically cried an entire river of tears . . . stupid book)

5. The Cruel Price by Holly Black

Okay so I read this book recently and okay . . . wow. THAT ENDING?! WTF!! I need book two now. This was such an incredible start to a series.
